3D Characters

Forest Guardian & Oskar

Forest Guardian
This 3D character is based on a sketch I once made on my way home.
The original idea was to create some kind of guard in a forest who is bound to protect that forest and over centuries he became a part of it.
However, the guard's story evolved a little further.

Remaining from a time when the Germanic People still believed in their Gods and offered them sacrifices this guard is still protecting a sacrificial altar for the God "Vidar" deep in a forest of firs.

Since the guard has been in the forest for several centuries he is partially rotten and decomposed as well as overgrown by the trees and vegetation.

He still gets to wear some remains of his original clothes while he is also covered by bark of firs which gives the impression of him wearing an armour.

For his weapon I chose a longsword in which the word "guardian" is engraved in germanic runes.

Oskar

For my first 3D character I created Oskar, a young man living in a city that has been taken over by rebels. Now he tries to stay hidden, scavenging for crumbs and scrap.

For protection he uses a garbage can lid that he turned into a shield and some parts of a S.W.A.T. armour he collected. He is also very cautious and thoughful, but keeps a shiv-like knife he made from scrap for defense though.

I wanted him to look like he has been hiding and scavenging for a while already so his clothes would be dirty and torn, his hair is shaggy. He also would wear just something casual like he just grabbed it very quickly and did not have a lot of time to pack his stuff.

So he got jeans and a hoodie and only his shoes would be a little bit more pracical boots. In the end I wanted to give him some kind of accessory which would make him a little bit more special than just some random lost boy.

I settled for the bandana since I thought it could also be used as a bandage if he would ever get hurt, but it also just looks pretty badass.
