Nature

Switzerland

I love the country life, being in nature, but I also enjoy working on a farm or at the stables.
In 2016 I spent 4 weeks on an alp in Switzerland and it was an inredible experience.
I got to herd the cows and help with the job routine. I had time to enjoy the environment, too, and a few times I even made it to a summit cross or a mountain pass.

Since then I have spent a few weeks on this alp every summer and I am always happy to be back, because I really enjoy being up there, spending time with the owners and working with the animals and around the alp.

Of course the wonderful location offers great motives for photographs, too.

I do have a soft spot for fog. It creates an awesome, mysterious and a little scary mood.

When I was in Switzerland the fog sometimes came creeping up very quickly and the mood completely changed.

On one day we had around 30 degrees and the next day the fog was so thick you could barely see more than a few meters.

I enjoyed that a lot and could not get enough pictures of the misty mountain peaks.

Lakes

Lakes are a very popular motive for photos, but I think one of the best ways to spend your morning is getting up as early as possible, driving to a beautiful lake and just enjoying the silence of the dawn.

Also... fog.

Bavaria has some quite popular lakes like the Eibsee, but some of the local lakes and ponds around my home are also really nice and there are a lot less people around, too.

Forest

In the village where I grew up the forest is just across the street and I spent a lot of time there in my childhood.
Taking a walk or ride through a forest and just taking a deep breath, smelling the scent of wood and moss and earth, listening to the birds chirping is just one of the best things to me.
